Introducing the 2009-2010 board of the Western Washington Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists:

President: Hilary Reeves, Managing Editor, Business Examiner;

Past President: Dana Neuts, Freelance Journalist and owner of Virtually Yourz;

Secretary: Linda Thomas, Freelance Broadcast and Print Journalist;

Treasurer: Ursula Reutin, News Director, KIRO Radio;

Breanne Coats, Associate Editor, Business Examiner;

Monica Guzman, News Gatherer, SeattlePI.com;

Clay Holtzman, Staff Writer, Puget Sound Business Journal;

Paula Marmion, Manager of Special Projects, Q13 News;

Sharon Salyer, Health & Social Issues Reporter, The (Everett) Herald;

Jim Simon, Assistant Managing Editor, The Seattle Times; and

David Volk, Freelance Writer

Votes were counted and certified on June 30. The board will hold its first official meeting of the year on Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Seattle Times.

    I recognize a few of the names here .Congrats to all. Used to report in Gig Harbor, Kitsap County and Grand Coulee, WA before the move down to Phoenix. SPJ when it does it right protects the people’s rights and interests as well as pursuit of interest, education and investigation.
