18 Sep SPJ Western Washington is looking for new board members for 2025!
Welcome to a new season of SPJ Western Washington! Next year could be our best yet, and we want you to be a part of it.
Through events, content and community efforts, SPJ Western Washington offers resources, advocate for journalists and offer coverage about how journalism is changing, and changing our world. But we need active and engaged members of our board of directors to do it.
Board members sign up for two-year terms. Our board is responsible for enhancing membership, operating annual journalism awards and scholarships, and providing programming and resources for journalists in our state.
Please help us fill our vacant seats and serve journalists in this state! We’re looking for applications including a brief description of your skills and history in journalism and service and why you’d like to join the board, plus some ideas of what you want to accomplish on the board.
Write a few paragraphs and submit your application to spjwash@gmail.com by no later than the end of day (11:59 p.m.) Thursday, September 26, 2024.
We will vote at the end of the month and announce the makeup of the new board shortly after in time for our October board meeting, at which time we’ll also elect officers.
Reminder: You must be a current member of the national SPJ organization to serve on our board.
