Join us for our second class in our five-week fall continuing ed series. Next week’s class features business reporters Andrea James and Hilary Reeves who will share tips and tools for business journalism.

Business reporting is growing and adding jobs even while the rest of the journalism industry suffers. Come to this SPJ class to learn how business journalism applies to your beat and how to gather information about public and private companies.

Among the topics, you’ll learn…
Why do companies sell stock? What’s the difference between a stock and a bond? How did the mortgage crisis transform into the credit crunch? How do I find out how much that CEO got paid?

At the end of the class, you’ll have a better grasp of the economics and accounting concepts that business journalists use every day.

Side bonus: You’ll learn how to be a smarter investor.

RSVP to Dana Blozis by e-mail or phone (360-920-1737) by 5 p.m., Friday, October 24. You’ll receive a confirmation e-mail followed by more detailed instructions Monday morning.
