Investigative Reporters and Editors is launching a new Meetup group in the Seattle area and we’re joining AAJA Seattle to help them kick off their first event.

What: IRE, AAJA and SPJ meetup
Where: The Diller Room, 1224 First Ave., Seattle (across from Seattle Art Museum, two blocks from University Street light-rail station)
When: Wednesday, Jan. 21, 5-8 p.m. (happy hour ends at 7 p.m.), cash bar with full menu, featuring a custom drink: “The Watchdog”
Who: Muckrakers, document hounds and data miners (and friends)
