Anyone who thinks of himself or herself as a journalist can apply for membership in SPJ.

If you don’t already belong to SPJ, we’d like to invite you to join. If you are a former member, we’d like you to come back.

As a member of the national Society of Professional Journalists, you get great benefits including opportunities to connect with other dedicated journalists, discounts on professional development programs and a subscription to Quill, the respected and sought-after publication for journalists.

At the local level, your membership in one of the society’s largest and most active chapters provides support to advance journalism through scholarships and awards for students and professionals, FOI advocacy and professional development programs.

Click here to join. National dues are $75 annually for professionals, less for students and retired journalists. There are no chapter dues.

As a member of the Western Washington Pro Chapter and the national society, you’ll receive discounts on programs and opportunities to connect with other dedicated journalists, as well as all the benefits from the national Society.

For more information on the benefits of membership in the Western Washington Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, contact the chapter at spjwash@gmail.com.

More information is also available at the national SPJ site at www.spj.org/join.asp

NOTE: For a limited time, national SPJ is offering a temporary dues waiver to unemployed journalists. Visit National SPJ’s website for more information and to download an application form.
