Dick's Drive-In isn't the only newcomer to Seattle's north end! The Western Washington Pro chapter will host its monthly Press Club social mixer at 7 pm on Thursday, Oct. 28 at The Rock Wood Fire Pizza and Brewery at 4010 196th Street, SW in Lynnwood. The social mixer is FREE to all and typically draws journalists and others from the media industry and their guests. But ALL are welcome, especially SPJ members who live in the Edmonds, Lynwood and Mountlake Terrace areas.

“Journalism Today and Tomorrow” is the theme of SPJ’s Washington College Journalism conference on Saturday, Nov. 6, at the University of Washington in Seattle. The conference is aimed at journalism students at two-year and four-year colleges. The one-day program will feature Seattle area journalists involved in investigative reporting and numerous digital media enterprises. Sessions will include discussions of ethics and public records relating to campus news coverage. Students will have an opportunity to tour the UW Daily offices and to learn about this innovative campus publication.
